The Appeal

The Brooklands R Mulliner was the last of Bentley's SZ series executive saloons - a product line that had begun back in 1980. To celebrate the model prior to the arrival of the Arnage in May 1998, Bentley produced 100 special edition cars all badged 'R Mulliner' of which we're delighted to offer car number 15.

While in build, these 100 Brooklands were handed over to the Mulliner team who added numerous upgrades inside and out, some of which had never been seen before during the SZ's long production run. These cars were very highly specified, and to this day, they're immensely sought after among collectors.

This 1998 example has just 36,746 miles on the clock and remains highly original.

Recently purchased for light restoration, it has been stored in a garage, ensuring its preservation but the vendor's priorities have changed. It runs, drives and comes with a valid MOT so the majority of the work needed is likely cosmetic. As the photographs show, there are some small bodywork imperfections around the car and the vendor tells us they were quoted £1,500 for repairs and respray. The interior is very well-preserved, with minimal signs of wear in line with the ultra mileage.

If you're looking for a winter project that shouldn't be too onerous, this rare, low-mileage Bentley is a compelling option.

Body is in very good condition with no major dents or other damage, just some scuffs and door dinks

The interior looks exceedingly smart, commensurate with the low mileage
The cream upholstery does not appear notably worn, creased or discoloured - even the drover's seat looks to be in superb order
