The Background
For those who don’t know, the Aston Martin DBR1 was a sports racing car built by British Automakers Aston Martin in 1956. They were primarily designed for the World Sportscar Championships as well as non-championship sportscar races in the 20th century. It is most known for winning the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans, which was Aston Martin's only outright victory in the endurance race. It is one of only three cars to win the World Sports Car Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours in the 1950s.
This 1959 style Aston Martin DBR1 Replica is finished in rouge red with a comfortable black interior. As a homage to the original, this incredible motorcar was first registered in 1998 and was built using Mazda MX-5 engine. We are pleased to offer this exquisite Replica to the most sophisticated collector or enthusiast who wants to enjoy this great classic.
The History
After the change to the rules governing sportscar racing in the 1950s, race car entrants no longer required to use road legal cars such as the Aston Martin DB3S. As a result, Aston Martin produced the DBR1, with Ted Cutting as the Chief designer. It featured a full body with a big triangle vent on the side, which would become a design characteristic on all future Aston Martins.
The DBR1 also go on to inspire generations of race car enthusiasts, classic collectors, and shade tree mechanics, helping to popularise the hobby that we've all come to know and love.

This particular vehicle is deemed by many as a very desirable replica as there were only five original DBR1 produced.
The Paperwork
The vehicle is still registered as a Mazda MX-5 and the corresponding V5 is present along with some specialist receipts and the original specification sheet. As such, it is suitable for any track day or private events but an IVA is recommended for use on public roads.
The car starts well and drives with no obvious faults being evident but having said that the seller now strongly recommends a good going over before any use as there may be faults which are not noted.
