1997 Rover Mini

Highlights

  • Owned since new
  • Garaged for most of its life
  • Original rare red leather interior with grey trim
  • Brand new catalytic converter and exhaust fitted during the last MOT

The Appeal

Ah, the Mini. How many cars can claim the pop-culture influence of this utterly legendary little car? Nimble, characterful and rather fast on its feet, Issigonis's masterstroke laid in the transverse A-Series engine, which maximised usable space for the decades of drivers who have cherished the car in both past and present.

This Pearl White example comes to us with all of the punch and pep you'd expect from the fuel-injected 1.3L engine - offering a surprising level of grunt to the otherwise rather twee little motor. It's also upholstered in a rarely seen red leather, and is accompanied by a fresh MOT.

With a little bit of aesthetic work, this lovely little car will no doubt charm the new owner. It's been with the vendor for nearly thirty years - and we're sure it'll spend just as long with its future keeper.

The Mechanics

  • 1,275cc A-Series I4 engine with fuel injection

  • The vendor notes that the car has undergone no modifications
  • It's still running well and we've no reports of any mechanical issues
  • Ultimately, it looks to be an eminently drivable example of the Rover Mini
