The Appeal
Sandwiched as it was between the earlier 205 and bigger 306 hot hatches, the 106GTI was relatively late to Peugeot’s sporting party. It has tended to be overshadowed by its illustrious siblings. Except by those who know.
Light, powerful and in some ways more agile, the compact 106 is not just the equal of its relatives but also one of the best hot hatches of the 90s. Which means it is quite exceptional.
Slow sales and the dominance of the 205 and 306 mean that good, unmolested and low mileage examples like this one are rare. It is one of the best we have seen in a while and will surely appeal to enthusiasts and collectors.
The sub-50,000 miles form new are supported by a thick history file and run of MOTs. the condition also supports it, combining a highly preserved interior with smart black paintwork. A recent service - part of a regular and meticulous maintenance regime - means it arrives with the buyer in very good health.
With 90s classics increasingly in the spotlight, here is a chance to sample a very good example of one of the decade’s best cars.
