The Attractions
The MGF marked the rebirth of the MG brand and is one of the best-loved two-seater sports cars of the last 30 years. While the Mazda MX5 had a retro look and rather traditional mechanics, the MGF was notable for its innovative and decidedly avant-garde technological choices for a large production car at a relatively low price.
The mid-engine configuration that allowed optimal weight balance, the lively K-series engine and the sophisticated Hydragas suspension made the MGF a fun car to drive and at the same time surprisingly comfortable. Today, well-preserved examples of the first series are rare, because many were driven with far too much impetus, and highly sought after by collectors, who appreciate the brilliant ride and the many refined technical and aesthetic solutions.
This MGF Mk1 has a particularly low mileage, having covered less than 77,000 km since new, in the hands of just two careful and competent previous owners. It is finished in the classic and particularly desirable British Racing Green colour scheme and retains all its original equipment, including 15-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels and a rare hard top.
We have been informed that this MGF drives well and that everything works as it should. It is an excellent opportunity to discover a wonderful classic spider that is very usable and easy to handle.
