The Appeal
The market for Land Rover Defenders is stronger than ever right now, with the best examples highly prized by a burgeoning community of enthusiasts. But there are some Defenders that gather even more interest than others - and this one is a very special thing indeed.
It's one of a limited number of “Wolf” XD Land Rovers built for the MOD to be driven from the shoreline to a landing craft out at sea or vice versa. Ideal for amphibious assaults, it had higher-than-normal wading gear and waterproof axles, to name but a few modifications. This example was decommisioned in 2019, at 22 years old.
The vendor acquired it four years ago and has been used ever since as his daily transport, taking the overall distance covered to 133,000km, or around 83,000 miles. He loves it and is very reluctant to sell it, but a recent house move and a longer commute means he now needs something more comfortable and practical.
