The Appeal
Spinning a four seater convertible out of the E36 architecture created one of the best four seater drop tops of the 90s. These cars were carefully engineered to deliver BMW’s ‘ultimate driving machine’ goal.
Today these cars make great weekend classics, being both practical and spacious and entertaining. Particularly, as here, when equipped with the firm’s highly regarded M52 straight six 190bhp 2.8litre engine. As the convertible is more suited to relax motoring this lovely example mates that power to a smooth 5spd automatic.
It is a very low mileage car that has clearly been looked after. Inspect the Calypso-Rot paintwork, bodywork and Sand Beige leather interior and you will find few signs of its 27 years. A recent new folding roof adds to the appeal.
A long, advisory-free MOT to April 2025 underlines the impression of a well sorted, well presented car that is ready for warm summer days.
