The Appeal

Boutique British sports car manufacturer TVR entered its golden age during what have become known affectionately as the "Peter Wheeler Years": 1981-2004. It was during this time the Blackpool-based firm churned out a string of fire-breathing monsters, revered for their immense performance and feared for their unforgiving nature. These TVRs are true "driver's cars", not for the faint of heart.

Here we have one of the greatest hits from the Wheeler era, a 1996 TVR Griffith. Many would argue TVRs are best-enjoyed in V8, convertible form, and the Griffith ticks both of those boxes. A proper British muscle car and a genuine thinking person's alternative to the oh-so predictable 911, the Griffith took those core principles that made TVRs so special; a lightweight rear-drive design with a thumping great engine residing in the front, dressed in advanced tubular construction and curved body lines.

This car is accompanied by a wealth of paperwork and comes freshly serviced and has advisory-free MOT until 18th July 2025. It's the later and highly coveted 5.0-litre model, in great mechanical and aesthetic order. Spring has finally sprung, and with summer on the horizon, what better time has there been to get your hands on a V8 roadster?!

The vendor says:

"Amazing fun to drive and extremely quick - I love the engine power; it allows 1st and 2nd gear start. The 4th gear runs well from a low speed of 20mph running very smoothly. A clutch servo has been fitted (may be removed) for ease of clutch control. The owner reluctantly selling due to knee injury."
