Highlights
- UK RHD Car
- Ideal restoration project
- Based on Morris Motors Oxford Series
THE APPEAL
The Hindustan Ambassador or Amby as it's known in India is an extremely iconic car. Used as a taxi to a family car, the Ambassador first made an appearance in the late 1950s when Hindustan purchased the rights of the Morris Oxford Series III from Morris Motors.
Predominantly built and sold in India, the Ambassador is a rare sight on UK roads, with reports of only six cars per year from 1990-1995 being imported with these vehicles being sold under the Fullbore Motor brand.
Owned since 2008 this UK Amby is presented honestly and would benefit from body recommissioning. It features a well-presented interior, low genuine miles and a robust 1.8L Isuzu engine and with a little investment to reinstate the exterior to its original glory, the result would be an attractive example of the Indian icon.

SUMMARY
The Hindustan Ambassador is a bit of an icon in India, appealing to the hearts of millions. Its classic appearance and robust mechanics made it a popular choice for many across the country but only a handful were ever imported to the UK and as such this genuine UK Fullbore model is a rare sight on the roads. This example needs a little love, especially the body but could be transformed into an attractive classic with the right know-how.
