The Appeal
The XM was one of the last engineering-led Citroens, a car in the same tradition as the innovative DS and CX. Very clever and quite unlike any of its executive rivals, survivors today are both rare and increasingly sought after by those who admire leftfield thinking.
This 1996 Citroen XM is particularly rare. It is a UK market RHD 3.0 V6 estate, potentially the only one of its kind remaining in the UK. Reportedly just 201 units produced. Enthusiasts will note that it is a desirable Phase 2 with improved electrics and reliability.
What sets this Citroen XM apart is its comprehensive service history. Every invoice for work done in the past 18 years is available, providing a clear and detailed record of its maintenance. The car has been in the care of the same independent Citroen specialist since 2006.
Recent work includes attention to the suspension spheres, driveshafts and the gearbox rebuilt. The engine and hydraulic suspension have been regularly serviced. The car comes to market with a long MOT to March 2025.
