1996 Aston Martin DB7 Volante 3.2 Manual

***Bidders please note that the private reg of the car has been removed and is now back on its original VRM P96 NWU***

Highlights

  • One of the very earliest DB7s - Number 91 off the production line
  • Comprehensive service history
  • Two registered keepers from new
  • Genuine low mileage
  • Collector-quality car in gorgeous colour combination
  • Recent ceramic coating treatment to paintwork
  • Incredibly solid underneath
  • Comes with full set of spare Turbine alloys and various other spares

The Appeal

In many respects, the DB7 is the last Aston Martin to emerge from the brand’s independent era, even though it was developed while Aston was under Ford ownership.

The new ‘Baby Aston’ evolved from the cancelled Jaguar F-Type sports car and was based on a heavily modified Jaguar XJ-S platform, with styling from Keith Helfet, who penned the Jaguar XJ220, and Ian Callum, who went on to be Jaguar’s global head of design – so a pretty good pedigree for an astonishingly pretty car.

It became the fastest-selling Aston Martin ever and for a very good reason.

This one is a very special car indeed, a collector-quality car in fabulous overall condition, impecabbly maintained with full Aston Martin Main Dealer or Approved Specialist service history and the same owner since 2005, who has cherished and preserved the car using it only for high days and holidays.

It a truly lovely, impeccably maintained example with the added advantage of being a genesis car – one of the very first of the breed with a traceable build record marking it out as from the very early days of DB7 production. It’s an absolute stunner, always garaged and presented in near-flawless condition.

The History and Paperwork

  • Full main dealer and specialist history
  • Fully stamped service book
  • Lots of previous invoices
  • Genuine 48k mileage
  • UK V5C
  • Cherished registration not included in sale
  • 19 service stamps and all associated invoices
  • Three keys and fobs, including the red master key
  • Delivered new to JCT 600 Aston Martin in August 1996
  • Two owners from new
  • Current MOT valid until April 2025, passed with no advisories

The Condition

  • Stunning Antrim Blue Metallic
  • Immaculate 18-inch ‘Turbine’ alloys with a full set of spares
  • Superb panels and paint, ceramic detailed and beautifully presented
  • One or two very minor imperfections to near perfect paint, the most noticeable being a tiny ding in one door - detailed in photos and barely discernible
  • The headlights are water tight, clear and in fully working order - a must as replacements are expensive and hard to come by
  • Everything works as it should, electric roof, air con, lights, washers, heated seats, electric seats, central locking
  • Blue mohair electrically powered roof
  • Cream leather with dark blue piping
  • Walnut interior trim pack
  • Original stereo
  • Functional air con
The Aston presents beautifully in Antrim Blue – an unusual and desirable colour for a DB7 - with all of its original paintwork and trim. It’s a fabolous-looking car in truly wonderful condition, with no evidence of corrosion, an exceptional paint finish and no dents or damage to speak of – just a couple of very small marks.

The ‘Turbine’ alloy wheels are in excellent order and have good rubber – a matching set of Bridgestones – while the car also comes with a complete set of spare alloys.

The electrically operated mohair hood is excellent and works as it should, while it is also supplied with a matching tonneau cover.

The cabin is truly gorgeous, offering a captivating mix of cream leather with blue piping and a superb dash with walnut veneered details and thick carpets. The overall condition is excellent, as you’d expect given its mileage and ownership history.

The seats are beautifully presented with just the slightest hint of wear to the driver’s side bolster.

The Mechanics

  • 3.2-litre straight-six
  • Five-speed manual
  • Drives without fault
  • Brand-new MOT
Powered by a sturdy and lively straight-six coupled with the desirable five-speed manual transmission, this DB7 is the archetypal British open-top tourer.

It has been impeccably well-maintained all of its life and has just flown through an advisory-free MOT in readiness for its next lucky owner. It’s a gorgeous old thing, made all the more special by being one of the seminal DB7s. One of the very first of the breed. A rare and extremely collectible find.
