The Background:

Good for 190bhp and 180lb ft of torque, the VR6 unit in the Corrado produced a rapid 0-62mph of a claimed 6.7 seconds. Suspended by MacPherson struts at the front and trailing arms with a torsion beam at the rear, it borrowed major suspension components from the MK3 Golf. Built by Karmann at its Osnabrück plant, it was a car that a generation of teenagers and young adults aspired to own.
Very few coupes stand the test of time, back in the late 80’s Volkswagen decided to introduce an even sportier version of the successful Scirocco model that ended production in 1988. The introduction of the Corrado and its smoother and stylish lines made it a popular choice across the World. In 1992 the V6 engine was introduced making it a popular choice with the motoring press and a true drivers car.

Today, more than three decades on, enthusiasm for the Corrado VR6 is just as vibrant and this prime example could be yours to own and cherish.

The History:

This fantastic five owner example has a full, documented service history which is supplied with the car showing pretty much everything that has ever happened to it! The original owner was the Managing Director of a VW Dealership who specified that he did not want a 'Storm' edition car, so this is rather rare for the model year! The second owner was a Private Collector who continued the upkeep who sold it to another renowned collector who spent thousands completely refurbishing the car which receipts are provided. The fourth owner had the car garaged since 2013 as it was bought as an investment which has preserved this car as you can see it today and then sold it to the current owner as a friend this year, who owns the car now. The current owner is going to put a fresh MOT on the car prior to transfer.

The Paperwork:

The car has five owners, originally owned by a Volkswagen employee for five years and four owners since. The current owner has had the car less than a year, purchasing it from a friend whose intention was to store it long term but needed to sell the vehicle. Full and Comprehensive paperwork and service details are evident up to 2012. The previous owner had the car in dry storage since purchase date of 2012 and as a result there is a gap in paperwork until 2017 when a full service was completed again. Last MOT was completed in 2017 but a new one will be provided by the current owner.

The Interior:

Fitted with a light beige leather upholstery which compliments the metallic blue exterior it sets the car off well and turns it into a pleasing place to be, the owner states that the interior is in fantastic condition for the year, the drivers bolster has some wear on the edging. Overall, the beige leather has held very up well but has benefited from being re-connolised by the previous owner, ensuring the preservation of this lovely interior. All electrics are in working order, including the sunroof and rear spoiler that can be deployed electronically.
The audio system is an Alpine head unit with CD player and a subwoofer fitted in the boot, you’ll probably have this on mute though as that creamy V6 engine is all the soundtrack you’ll ever need.
The owner also has the original stereo in its packaging if you wanted to turn the interior back to standard, this is included in the price.
The door cards are in good condition along with the glasswork, inside and outside.

The Exterior:

The original BBS RXII alloys set the car off well, being a must have upgrade for the VW performance cars of this era and all stated by the owner to be in fantastic condition.

The deeply attractive Mystic Blue paintwork is stated as being in outstanding order and preserved well with no signs of previous accident damage and no signs of corrosion evident.
The tyres have good tread on them and the exhaust system sets the car off, the Magnex system was fitted around 2006 we believe.

The Mechanics:

Mechanically the car is sound and has a genuine and traceable 107,700 mile full service history by VW or VW Specialists - although no recent history is apparent due to the car being in storage. The owner collected the car 250 miles away and has stated that it drives as good as new with no apparent faults present, a new clutch was fitted at 91350 miles and prior to 2012 when the fourth owner purchased the Corrado for an investment a lot of money had been spent in prepping the car.
