The Appeal

The R129 may well be one of Mercedes-Benz's greatest keystone cars, and positively led the company's product range for 13 years. A smart, refined and gently updated iteration of the R107's winning formula, the car is often regarded as one of those last true bastions of the old Mercedes-Benz ethos - rock solid build quality, refined performance and a comfortable cabin.

If there was any R129 to look for, you could argue that the Mille Miglia edition is the most exclusive. This special edition celebrated the 40th anniversary of Stirling Moss and Dennis Jenkinson’s success on the legendary road race - indeed, the first one off the line was presented by Mercedes-Benz to Stirling Moss himself. As a fitting nod to the anniversary, they made only 40 of them. The car has a unique interior, checkered flag accents to the side vents, and six spoke alloys.

This handsome example has been pampered by its current keeper, and comes complete with plenty of time on its MOT and all of that limited edition glitz fully intact. It's not often a Mille Miglia edition comes to market, and we're sure it'll get any Merc aficionado very excited!
