The Appeal
Often cited as one of the last Mercedes-Benz passenger cars to boast tank-like build quality, the W124's design was overseen by the legendary Bruno Sacco. Upon launch, it was one of the most technologically advanced cars of its day. Numerous body styles were offered, including a convertible, providing a proper four-seat alternative to the firm's concurrent R129 SL.
Just 789 A124 were sold in the UK and here we have one of those cars. This E220 Cabriolet has to be one of the best surviving examples. We're informed that it began life in Chelsea and came with several optional extras including a 6 CD multichanger, twin illuminated vanity mirrors and metallic paint. It comes with full service history and its original book pack.
The E220's condition is a testament to its lifetime of careful ownership, and the vendor has continued to garage the car. Indeed, this is why it's now offered for sale as the vendor is losing their dry storage.
With an MOT valid until April 2025, this E220 is ready to be cherished by a new custodian.
