Pre-bids

1995 Maserati Ghibli AM336 2.8L

Highlights

  • 105,000 km on the clock
  • Regular maintenance by Charles Pozzi Maserati
  • Rare 290 bhp 2.8L twin turbo model
  • New timing belt, tyres and heater motor
  • Completely repainted and polished in June 2024
  • MOT valid until June 2026

The plus

The Bi-Turbo was an ingenious idea: a BMW rival with Maserati's small-series, hand-crafted exclusivity. When the time came to refresh it, Gandini gave it a complete overhaul. It was a wise and evocative choice, since Gandini has designed the Miura, the Countach, the Fiat X1/9 and the Alfa Montreal, among others.

The car was also given a new name - the Ghibli II, reviving the name of one of Maserati's greatest GTs. Italian buyers were treated to a 2L version of Maserati's V6, equipped with twin turbos, while the rest of the world got the AM574 2.8L V6 with 285 bhp.

Only 1,157 Ghibli II 2.8 left the factory. Blending classic Gandini styling with a luxurious interior and, of course, that sonorous V6, here's a chance to discover one of these rather rare cars.

Finished in black with a matching interior, this well-maintained car has covered just 105,000 kms since new and has been maintained to a high standard of care. It is one of the 2.8L cars destined for the 'rest of the world' and is fitted with the much-appreciated 6-speed gearbox fitted to Ghibli models from 1995.

Most of the work has been carried out in recent years by the Charles Pozzi Maserati specialist in Paris. In the last 3,000 kilometres, this has included new timing belts, a brake overhaul, tyres and even a heater fan. In June 2024, the car was repainted and carefully polished.

Well-maintained Ghibli's are among the most unusual and characterful classic cars in the world. This one adds a long Technical Inspection - until June 2026 - to its already convincing offer.
