The Appeal

By the advent of the 1970s, GT cars were all the rage, so Jaguar was in need of a car that could equal the success of their outgoing E-Type. With fierce competition from the big European manufacturers, it would need to be mightily impressive to stand a chance in the competative GT market. iin September 1975, the XJ-S was revealed - and it went down a treat.
Presented in great condition this 1995 US XJS spent time in the state of New York as well as Florida before being imported to the UK in 2021. Finished in Glacier White with a Beige roof and Coffee interior, this gold-badge XJS offers a well-cared-for stately appearance and impressive performance alongside open-top grand-tourer excitement that only a V12 XJS can provide.

These were amongst the rarest and most expensive of the XJS, and will no doubt prove the envy of any classic car show or Jaguar enthusiast gathering!

The Interior

  • Majestic luxury throughout
  • Drivers side seat has very little wear on the bolster
  • The back seats appear to have seen very little use
  • Very good condition with very little wear present
  • Coffee interior
Presented in very good condition the interior of this XJS displays very little sign of wear. Jaguars ‘Coffee’ interior is an attractive deep shade of beige that compliments the walnut veneer and exterior Glacier white exceptionally well.

The dashboard and trim appear to be free from any cracks or age-related wear, with the exception of the passenger door trim and gearstick, both of which are displaying the smallest imperfections.

The seats and carpets are good, again with very little sign of anything other than light creases visible. The controls and switches are reported to be in full operational order with no faults.

The Exterior

  • Fabulous grand tourer convertible
  • Presented in fantastic condition
  • Turbine wheels, Spoiler, Gold badge and piped leather as standard
  • Glacier white with a beige folding roof - a very rare colour combination
The initially controversial appearance of the XJS has become a recognisable and respected design over the years, with many enthusiasts regarding its styling as one of the best cars of the era.

The long, elegant body is gloriously imposing, stately and important, especially in convertible form where the grand tourer really looks its best. The car is presented in excellent condition, the paint is good, with only the most minor indications of use present.

The beige folding roof is reported to be in excellent operating condition and free from tears or damage, the same goes for the Tonneau cover that accompanies the car and hides the roof when it is folded back. Overall, this is a very attractive and very well-presented XJS.

The Mechanics

  • 6.0L V12 Engine
  • Automatic transmission
  • Reported to be in excellent running condition
  • Famously smooth performance
  • Powerful and enjoyable
  • USA specification
Equipped with the range-topping 6.0L V12 engine, this XJS will provide a thrill, fun as well as smooth comfort. Country road or city street, the XJS is at ease in any situation and will perform exceptionally no matter the speed.

Reported to be in great mechanical shape this XJS was treated to some new rear brakes in 2021 as well as some track rod ends which were raised on the 2021 MOT. The car does require a new MOT test to be completed however, we’re informed that the vendor is happy to provide a new MOT if required.

Summary

A great example of Jaguars' grand tourer and longest-running model, this XJS convertible is in fantastic condition. An attractive colour scheme adds further appeal and with XJS V12s becoming more and more desirable this could be a sound investment for any keen collector.
