The Appeal
Every now and again, certain cars come along and blow you away, and this is one of those. We have a 1995 Jaguar XJS 2+2 in the stunning Rose Bronze Metallic paintwork, which was only used for the year of 1995 and only applied to 17 XJS convertibles, making this quite a rare car.
That's one of the main points, and the next is that it has only covered 32,333 miles and is in original unmarked condition both inside and out; it is simply outstanding.

The History and Paperwork
• V5 is present
• Registered 1st January 1995
• UK registered 1st October 2020
• Original owners manuals
• MOT valid until 19th May 2023
• 2 Keys
• Private registration included
Imported from America in 2020, the XJS was first registered in Miami Beach and then moved with the owner to California, so it has always been in a dry state, as you can see from the condition. The seller sourced the car to add to his collection. He is an XJS fanatic who is only interested in finding original, low mileage and rare cars to go into his collection.
The Interior
• Cream leather (NDR code)
• Completely original interior
• Outstanding condition
• Factory mats
• Unused original spare wheel and tyre
Opening the door of the XJS, you could just as easily be opening a door of a two year old car; the doors click open with a firm feel and looking inside, and the interior is in stunning condition. The seats are finished in cream leather which have no signs of any wear other than a few slight crease marks. The rear seat doesn’t look to have been used a great deal, if at all. The door cards are also in excellent condition with no scuffs to the leather, and the seat controls are working as they should.
Finished in beige and walnut, the dashboard shows no damage, and the wood veneer is all in excellent order. The instruments are working as they should, with the odometer reading just 32,333 miles. The switches and clock are all in good order with no wear to be seen, and the same can be said for the gear surround and controls for the electric windows. The stereo is the factory Jaguar unit which is connected to a boot mounted CD multichanger.
A set of factory mats keep the carpets protected, which are in good condition. The boot area is pristine with the unused spare wheel, unused jack and tools in place. The spare even has the original tyre on with the sticker, which shows it has never been used.
The Exterior
• Rose Bronze Metallic used for just one year
• 1 of 17 cabriolets produced in this colour
• Original roof in excellent condition
• Matching Goodyear tyres
• Unmarked exterior
Finished in this wonderful colour of Rose bronze Metallic which has a factory hand painted pinstripe running down the car's flanks. This colour was used for just one year and reportedly only applied to 17 cabriolet models. The condition of the body is outstanding and original. Being the celebration build year the body is galvanised.
The brightwork is in excellent condition with no tarnishing to be seen, and the lights have a bright finish with no chips or cracks to point out. The US spec side markers have been connected to the indicators, making them act as side repeaters. It's pretty much like the condition of a new car, the bonnet aligns as it should, and the windscreen is free from any chips or noticeable scratches.
Looking down the flanks of the XJS, the lines are uninterrupted and flawless. The chrome door handles and mirrors have a bright finish, the windows and trims are excellent, and the doors have an even gap. The original, burgundy coloured fabric roof is in excellent condition. It comes complete with the factory Tourneau cover. Note, the electric roof works perfectly and smoothly.
To the rear, the boot aligns correctly, the standard tinted lights are free from splits or cracks, and the chrome work has a bright finish with no tarnishing. The wheels have been re-finished in factory silver and are superb. The brand-new tyres are matching Goodyear Efficient, which have only covered approximately 30 miles.
This XJS has just had new brake discs and pads fitted (after the pictures were taken) and there was a tiny scuff on the bottom edge of the lower front spoiler, which was hardly noticeable, but the seller has just had this painted as he wanted to keep the Jag in its flawless condition. It also comes with a 12-month MOT.
The Mechanics
• 4.0 Litre
• Automatic transmission
• New discs and pads
• Excellent history
• Recent full service with genuine parts
The Jaguar is fitted with the 4.0 litre straight-6 engine, which, as you can see from the images, is in totally original and outstanding condition. The bolts and aluminium have no real tarnishing to be seen. It’s almost as good as when it left the showroom in 1995, and remember, this has never been restored; it is All Original.
The car starts up as it should with no untoward noises coming from the engine. It has been given a recent full service and a clean bill of health with everything working as it should. Driving the car is said to be excellent, with the XJS pulling well through the gears, and the change is smooth, with no noises coming from the transmission or drivetrain. The car stops as well as it goes having just had new discs and pads fitted, ensuring the vehicle is just right.
Looking under the car, it’s clear that it’s not seen many wet trips out. It’s in excellent order as shown in the pictures. For 27 years old and untouched, it could be described as Immaculate.
