The Appeal
From a shaky start, during which it was nearly canned after just three years in production, the XJS flowered into Jaguar’s most enduring cars and a benchmark for GT motoring.
In part this was down to continuous development which saw the XJS lose a hyphen but gain luxury and a new range of engines. The final Celebration models were built to mark Jaguar’s 60th year and dialled up the luxury even further with higher quality hides and veneers and extra features.
This Celebration is one of the last built and demonstrates why this model was so long-lived. Finished in a particularly compelling colour combination it is a low mileage, much-historied car with the reassurance of a long MOT. Whether you choose to daily it or save it for indulgent weekend trips, this is a great example of a truly brilliant car.

Summary
The XJS is one of those modern classics that could easily be driven daily Monday to Friday, quickly wiped over on Friday evening and displayed at shows on Saturday and Sunday. Usable and distinctive, it also rewards occupants with a particularly Jaguar-esque level of special.
The Celebration is particularly sought after by enthusiasts and this low mileage example shows why. Looking resplendent in blue over ivory, if you really need more reasons to buy it then don’t forget the excellent history file and long MOT.
