THE APPEAL
Two seats, front engine, rear wheel drive and nothing but the sky above your head. This combination in the automotive world is a proven provider of enjoyment and exhilaration worldwide. In the 90’s Suzuki took this recipe and introduced it to the Kei Car market, a Japanese car category for tiny, city cars with restricted dimensions and engine capacities.
They called it the Cappuccino and equipped it with a 3 cylinder, turbo charged 657cc engine, either a 5 speed manual or 3 speed automatic gearbox and a versatile three piece roof system allowing the car to be a Coupé, T-Top, Targa or the roof can be completely removed for the open air fun.

This UK registered car, was one of only 1,110 Cappuccinos brought to the UK market and is still in original factory configuration with no unsightly modifications or adaptations present. It is in sublime condition thanks to it being garaged for almost its entire life and only being driven for 5,205 miles. The condition, mileage and factory original set up make this Cappuccino a very rare and unique opportunity which will unlikely repeat itself.
THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK
- Original manufacture handbook
- Only three owners from new
- Garaged for almost its entire life
Registered 1st of August 1994, the car has been in the ownership of three individuals, the latest having owned since early 2021. The car was first purchased from a Suzuki dealer in St Albans, where it was then shortly sold on to the next owner who was based on the Isle of Wight. This second owner impressively had another Cappuccino which was used on a daily basis, this additional car was garaged and strictly only
purchased for show.
In March 2021 the car was purchased by its current owner, who couldn't pass up on the opportunity to own such a unique car and thanks to their personal ties with Suzuki they have managed to maintain the vehicle with all original and genuine parts. A small amount of documentation of any servicing and maintenance work are present, with the original service book containing 2 stamps plus the PDI record. In addition, a Cappuccino brochure is present alongside the original owners manual.

THE INTERIOR
- Black leather bucket seats
- Brand new carpets
- Immaculate condition
A simple but super blend of black leather bucket seats, black carpet and black plastic trim are throughout this tiny sports car. Everything is in like new condition, there’s no signs of wear or areas of concern anywhere, which is not surprising considering the car’s mileage and rare use. A more modern radio has been installed to allow bluetooth integration, but the original is present and will come with the car, other than that everything is as it was when it left Japan.
Behind the wheel you’re positioned comfortably and adequately, it may be a small car but the seating position allows for a moderate space for a driver under six foot, with the additional passenger the car will feel a little more crowded but still roomy enough to not hinder any enjoyment.
Overall, a perfect untouched interior with a simple but timeless design.

THE EXTERIOR
- Cordoba Red
- Fantastic condition
- Tiniest stone chip
Without question the Japanese Domestic Market has introduced some fabulous looking two seater sports cars over the years and in our opinion the Suzuki Cappuccino is one of them.
The sporty design is subtle yet sufficient, a small air intake recess sits between front facing headlights, paired with side vents by the front 7 spoke alloy wheels give the car aggression and an athletic look. The Cordoba red paint looks fantastic, arguably the best colour on these Cappuccinos and an ideal combination with the black interior.
There’s only one tiny blemish we could see which is located by that front intake recess, a very small stone chip that has been touched in and quite frankly, not very noticeable to the average eye. The 4-way, versatile roof system is unscatched with the factory original bags still present which we’re told are sparse with most being damaged or lost. The finish is similar to a graphite dark grey, very attractive especially with contrasting red paint.

THE MECHANICS
- 657cc 12 valve engine
- Turbo charged with intercooler
- 5 Speed Manual
- Independent suspension
- Disk brakes
During our visit, the car was started with ease and manoeuvred out of its garage for the photographer. A enjoyable, sporty note exits the exhaust encouraging more revving and unhidable smiles, it’s not an intrusive or a loud exhaust, more soft and sensible. In the cars current ownership a new original exhaust, back box and centre pipe have been installed plus a full major service including all belts was carried out.
All parts are genuine Suzuki and have been fitted by a specialist. The car runs like a dream, unsurprisingly, it’s done just over 5,000 miles in 30 years and kept away from the elements for the majority of its life, additional measures such as Waxoyl to the underside have been taken to ensure the cars longevity.

SUMMARY
This tiny car is infectious, its sporty looks and stance give it a unique charm but the main joy will come from the driving experience. Low to the ground, lightweight, with reported 50/50 weight distribution make this car more agile than an olympic acrobat.
Its incredible low and genuine mileage, its untouched, exquisite condition make this Cappuccino an unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
