The Appeal
Introduced in 1992 after a 12-year hiatus, the RV8 was a roadster produced in only 2,000 units, over 1600 of which were exported to Japan - introduced as a continuation of the much-loved MGB. It was a curiosity - part heritage, part modern, and provided the heady ideals of 60s’ motoring with a rather more uniquely 90s persona. They were instant classics, and are now highly desirable footnotes in the 90s Rover production list - V8-powered, peppy and characterful roadsters that demand attention.
This example, originally sent to Japan, is still carrying its highly desirable Oxford Blue paintwork, and is in superb fettle through and through. Well maintained by the highly skilled owner, who has worked with motors for decades. The previous owner had it thoughtfully upgraded by V8 experts RPI Engineering without reducing the car’s ever-endearing character.
Reluctantly for sale to make room for a recently purchased E Type (and to placate the owners wife!).
