Highlights
- Just 2 former keepers
- Low mileage
- Drives beautifully
The Appeal
A powerhouse of engineering prowess, the R129 SL is coming into its own as a modern classic. With the versatility that comes with a soft top and removable hard top, it’s the roadster that can be used all year round.
This example is presented in Malachite Green and has been very lightly used over the years, covering just 7,000 miles since 2007 and fewer than 27,000 miles in total. As a result it’s a remarkable thing to drive as it’s as close as you’re likely to experience to driving a new one at this stage.
With a silky straight six and smooth shifting automatic gearbox, that means it’s fabulously wafty. Roof down, in the sunshine, there’s few better ways to enjoy the British countryside. It’s true that there are a few cosmetic issues to address to bring it back to its best but, once sorted, it feels like it would go on forever.
