The Appeal

Every year between 1980 and 1998, 4x4 enthusiasts eagerly awaited the Camel Trophy. This was the Olympics of Off-road, a legendary endurance event that took on some of the most difficult terrain in the world. Named after, sponsored and branded by the ever-legendary cigarette company, it didn't just hit the zeitgeist - it made the stuff of legend.

After the first event, it became a nearly pure Land Rover-driven affair, with the British brand synergising perfectly alongside the competition's namesake. The result is that the Sandglow livery, distinctive survival gear and evocative Camel branding have become instantly recognisable, and many enthusiasts have taken it upon themselves to start unique builds to evoke this legendary spec.

This Land Rover Discovery has seen exactly that - with every item either refurbished or replaced, the electrics upgraded and the specification lifted directly from what was required of a true Trophy Car. It's a truly excellent build that we've no doubt will excite any dedicated enthusiast - inspired by perhaps the brand's golden age of adventure, exploration and endurance.

Powered by a recently overhauled 2.5-Litre 200Tdi four-cylinder diesel engine

Snorkel is upgraded to Camel specifications with additional breather tubes to prevent high-level water ingress
