THE APPEAL
The Ferrari 512 TR was introduced in 1991 and was the successor to the Ferrari Testarossa. The 512 in the name refers to the engines 5.0L litre displacement and V12 engine configuration whilst the TR stands for Testarossa, highlighting its connection to the iconic Testarossa lineage.
This Ferrari 512TR is a low-milage example of the marques flagship ‘90s supercar and is presented in the iconic Rosso Corsa Ferrari colour scheme. It’s naturally aspirated V12 sends 422bhp and 362lb-ft to the rear wheels via a five-speed open-gated manual transmission. The car is one of 88 RHD models to be ever produced and more importantly one of 38 cars fitted with ABS. This 1994 model has the later 512M diff and other associated parts that were considered to be a weakness in earlier iterations of the car. It is reported that from 1991 to 1994, as little was 2,300 units were built for the road.
It's a Ferrari, it's in Rosso Corsa and it has pop headlamps. That's end of discussion in itself for most petrolheads.
THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK
This Ferrari 512 TR started its life in Singapore and was brought to the UK in 1999. Sadly in 2000 it suffered an insurance claim and was subsequently recorded as a Cat D.
Since being in the UK it has had 4 previous keepers, with the current vendor owning the car for 19 years.
Owner 1 - 07/04/1999 up to 17/04/1999
Owner 2 - 17/04/1999 up to 30/05/2001
Owner 3 - 30/05/2001 up to 01/03/2004
Owner 4 - 01/03/2004 up to 27/04/2004
Owner 5 (current) - 27/04/2004 up to present day.
The vendor reports that the milage showed 19,621 when he purchased the vehicle in 2004. The current milage shows 26,178.
Since owning the car the vendor has covered roughly 6,500 miles.
Averaging roughly 400 miles per year, with the exception of 2022/2023 being just a shade under 1000 miles.
When the car is not in use it is stored in a dry garage, inside a carcoon to protect the vehicle from dust and detritus.
The service record is not complete but the car has been meticulously looked after to an extremely high standard with an extensive record of receipts and images documenting this.
The vendor has carried out a large proportion of the maintenance work himself, with his local garage carrying out regular oil changes on the vehicle.
The car underwent a bare metal respray and was refinished in it’s factory colour, Rosso Corsa.
A replacement windscreen was fitted in 2016.
Fitted with a tracker

The interior of the Ferrari is wonderfully simple and a place that is a pleasure to ample amounts of spend time in. It’s cockpit offers driver focus with a combination of luxurious and sporty elements. The seats are well-bolstered and provide excellent support for when you decide to open up the V12 for spirited driving.
It is obvious at a first glance that this car has been cared for greatly over the years. As you open the door you are greeted by the smell of high quality leather. The Crema leather interior maybe almost 30 years old but it looks outstanding.
Both the drivers seat and passenger seat are holding up very well for their age. There is minimal wear on either of the seats, with them displaying only the lightest signs of usage.
The carpet, headlining and door sills are all in spectacular condition, with the door cards still in fantastic shape and with no cracks, rattles or scuffs to the leather.
The only non standard change for the interior is that the OEM radio has been replaced in favour for a Pioneer single din unit, but the original one does come with the vehicle should the new owner wish to replace it.

Rosso Corsa is one of the most famous colour ways that a Ferrari can be finished in. It’s a colour that hold a significant amount of meaning to the Ferrari brand and in this case, compliments the Ferrari’s lines and contours exceptionally.
It’s quite apparent that externally the Ferrari has been looked after, with only a minor mark to mention. Every other body panel around the car is looking pristine and as if it has just rolled of the production line. Shut lines and panel gaps are tight, and the infamous cheese grater doors, close as elegantly as one would expect.
The alloy wheels have been refurbished but remain in excellent condition with no imperfections, curb rash or damage to be aware of. The rear wheels are wrapped in fresh, correct Pirelli tyres.

Mechanically speaking this Ferrari 512 TR has been well looked after with various Ferrari dealer stamps present in the service book. Other maintenance has been carried out either by independent specialists or by the vendor himself.
Up to 2011 the car had annual oil changes, despite the low miles covered. However, in 2011, at around 21,500 miles the vendor carried out a fairly substantial amount of work himself, which included; replacement fuel pumps, right rear wheel bearing replaced, new suspension bushes, powder coated suspension components and a four wheel alignment.
In 2016 at around 23,000 a new clutch was fitted due to the throw out bearing becoming noisy. At 25,000 in 2022, the cam belts were replaced along with new coolant hoses, as they were beginning to swell due to their age.
At 26,000 the car was inspected by a Ferrari specialist to ensure that all was well and that there were no faults with the vehicle. A compression test was completed on the engine and found that the engine was fit and healthy.
SUMMARY
This Ferrari 512 TR is truly a thing of beauty and can only be described as a work of art. The vendor has sparred no expense in ensuring that this car can be the very best it can be. This can be seen visually and by looking through the vast amount of documentation and receipts that are presented with the car.
A once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of Ferrari’s most iconic and coveted automobiles. It’s a truly wonderful example of a well looked after car and we are more than certain that whomever ends up with it will enjoy their time with the car just as much as the current vendor has done.
