The Appeal
Produced by Daimler-Benz between 1984 to 1997, the W124 was the latest offering from Mercedes in the mid-sized luxury vehicle market and would go on to be incredibly well-received. The W124 was designed during a crucial time in which economy, reliability and durability were prized traits in motor vehicles, partially as means of competing with the latest Japanese cars. Today, this superb build quality is exemplified by a fair number of incredibly high-mileage W124 cars, that are still capable of rivalling modern equivalents.
In fact, by W124 standards, this 300 E-24 variant (confusingly badged as a 320E) is a rather low mileage example, that will no doubt continue to live up to its intended purpose for many years to come. The vehicle presents itself with few signs of age, is in superb mechanical condition, and requires nothing to be enjoyed. If you’re looking for a collection piece, dependable daily driver or weekend toy, this 300 E-24 ticks all of the boxes.
The History and Paperwork
- Just 1 former keeper
- Only 94k on the clock
- Garage stored from new
- Recently recommissioned
- Well maintained, with plenty of new parts
- V5C document present
- Includes original 15” alloys, original orange indicators, and original suspension
- MOT until December 2022
This beautiful Mercedes has just one previous owner; a couple who owned the vehicle from new, storing the vehicle in a garage when not in use. Prior to the current owner acquiring the vehicle, the vehicle had been unused and garage stored for an entire decade. Upon purchasing the vehicle, the current keeper ensured the vehicle was recommissioned with new fluids, new spark plugs and a new battery.
Throughout their ownership and as keen eyes may have already spotted from the photographs, the vehicle has been tastefully modified and treated with a range of new parts. The car now sits on H&R lowering suspension and a refurbished set of 17” AMG monoblocks, giving the vehicle a very sporty appearance.

The car now sits on H&R lowering suspension and a refurbished set of 17” AMG monoblocks, giving the vehicle a very sporty appearance.
The vehicle also sports new tyres, new smoked rear lights, new side and front indicators, a new ignition coil, rotor arm, ignition leads, distributor cap, boot seal and radio ariel grommet. As a result, buyers will be happy to hear that this W124 performs like a new car, with no known faults.
Should you wish to revert the car to its original condition, the original alloys, suspension and indicators will be included with the final sale. Also included is a Mercedes service guide, and leather document pouch, along with the V5C document of course.
The Interior
- Original interior
- Superb condition
- Cream leather upholstery
- Electric sunroof
- Walnut veneer trim
The interior of this Mercedes 300 E-24 is in fantastic condition for the age of the vehicle and clearly benefits from years of care. With the age of the vehicle, it’s not unreasonable to expect major wear on items like seats and contact points, but remarkably, this car truly stands out from the crowd, with minimal wear.
Both front seats are in superb condition for their age, showing only the most minor signs of use. The rear seats sit slightly higher on the podium, boasting a condition that suggests only a few instances of use throughout the vehicle’s life.
All carpeting throughout the vehicle is clean and tidy, as are the floormats, although the front mats would benefit from a dash of TLC to achieve their factory finish once more. All 4 door cards and associated trim pieces follow suit, with minimal signs of age. In keeping with the cream leather upholstery, the cabin also shows off an immaculate headliner, which helps further brighten this comfortable interior.
The Exterior
- Gorgeous two-tone exterior
- Original paintwork
- Excellent condition for the vehicle’s age
- 17” AMG Monoblock alloy wheels
- Lowered stance
- Smoked rear lights
- New front and side indicators
This two-tone blue W124 Mercedes looks absolutely fantastic and is in excellent condition for the age of the vehicle. The blue paintwork does show minor defects in keeping with the vehicle’s age, including minor bubbling, the typical chips, and dashes of patina beginning to peek through near the arches.
There is also an incredibly slight dent in the bonnet, which is genuinely near impossible to spot from most angles. Despite these minor defects, the vehicle sports its two-tone blue with pride and continues to outshine even the likes of modern cars. It’s certainly a vehicle you’ll be proud to own and look back upon each time you park up.
Thanks to the H&R suspension and larger AMG wheels, the vehicle has quite a sporty stance, almost reminiscent of touring cars of the period. All 4 wheels are in excellent condition having been recently refurbished and are wrapped in a meaty set of Taurus tyres with plenty of tread for the new owner to enjoy.
Although the merging of classic Mercedes styling and modern wheels is a welcome modification, the original suspension and wheels are included with the sale should the lucky new owner seek the original appearance.
The Mechanics
- 24V straight-six
- Drives brilliantly
- Recently recommissioned
- Plenty of new parts
Buyers will be pleased to know that this Mercedes fires up straight away, and performs with zero known mechanical or electrical faults. As the vehicle has covered so few miles for its age and has been treated to a range of new parts courtesy of the current owner, the car is said to drive exactly how it would have done when it first graced the roads in 1993.
In addition to being given a new battery and thorough service following its decade off the road, the car has since been treated with a new ignition coil, rotor arm, distributor cap, ignition leads, tyres and new H&R suspension. As a result, buyers can expect a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with straight-six power on tap, and true W124 reliability.
Summary
With tidy examples of the legendary W124 family becoming scarcer by the day, this beautiful 300E-24 presents the opportunity to own a fantastic reminder of some of Mercedes’ finest work. This vehicle has just one former keeper, shows a mere 94K on the clock, looks absolutely fantastic and best of all? Drives brilliantly.
If you’re looking for a fun weekend toy, the next addition to your collection, or even a retro daily driver, this 300E should be at the very top of your list.
