The Appeal
A little-known fact is that Morgan was the first sports car manufacturer to utilise the inimitable Rover V8 - a compact all-alloy unit originally developed by General Motors. The Plus 8 was a seminal car for Morgan and its immense popularity is often credited with saving the company.
We’re delighted to offer this cherished example which has remained in single-family ownership from new. Acquired by the vendor’s father in 1992 from Allon White Sports Cars, this Plus 8 has been enjoyed sparingly over the years, covering just 14,016 miles.
In 2018, it passed into the hands of the vendor who has recently subjected it for recommissioning and MOT testing following several years of laying dormant in dry storage. Mechanically healthy, delightfully original and sporting a pleasing patina, this much-loved Morgan awaits its next custodian.

- Complete with its folwing hood, which we’re informed has seen very little use
- Light marks, scratches and chips can be found in various places around the bodywork, as befits an unrestored, original car of this vintage
- The nearside rear wings bears a few scuffs and minor denting
- The vendor informs us that the seat bases and roof cover suffer slightly from rodent damage, although there’s certainly nothing excessive to report
- The upholstery presents well, with no heavy wear apparent
- The dashboard is delaminating slightly, but this does not detract from its overall appearance
- We understand all the controls and switchgear to be in good working order
- The underside presents well, benefitting from sparing use and dry storage throughout the car’s life
- The rear bumper is a little misshapen
- The board behind the driver’s seat which covers the battery is missing
