The Appeal

Thanks to a combination of bold, Sayer-penned styling and the traditional values of performance and comfort that had made Jaguar so legendary, the XJS was always going to make a big splash when it hit the market. Those rear buttresses and the car's somewhat blocky styling captured a generation, and quickly became very aspirational. There was always someone in your town with an XJS - and chances are, you envied them for it.

Perhaps that's exactly how you came upon this utterly iconic classic back in the day, and it's your time to finally get behind the wheel. This 1992, post-facelift example is a perfect candidate to get the Tourer you've always dreamt of. Boasting a striking red livery and a beige interior cabin, the car carries the ever-clamoured-for 5.3L High-Efficiency V12 powerplant. That rather special "Fire Ball" combustion chamber increased an already very capable car's output to 295 hp. Quite a prospect!

This XJS has been recently serviced and needs only minor work to bring it up into top-notch standard. If you've always had one of these stylish, big-engined tourers on your bucket list, this is a great opportunity.

Bodywork looks in very good order with only light signs of wear
Nice finish that still carries a nice shine
No corrosion on the main body
Rust-free around the wheels
Boot floor and cabin floor under carpets are solid and rust-free
Classic Jaguar spoke wheels, which look in good order
The cabin is generally in good order, though is showing signs of its age
Leather needs to be cleaned or restored
Some fraying on the driver's seat needs to be repaired
Wood panelling all needs to be replaced
Rear seats are good, just need a clean and polish
Electrics all work except wing mirrors
