The Appeal
The Jaguar XJS has long been cemented as one of the brands all time greats. One of the longest running models in the marque’s impressive history, the XJS has aged like a fine wine and stands today as an incredibly collectible piece of Jaguar history. With such a long production run it's only natural that there would be several variations, designs and facelifts, but the car we have here might be the rarest, and certainly one of the most interesting of them all.
The Jaguar XJR-S was the result of Jaguar Sport and Tom Walkinshaw Racing coming together to make a truly special performance coupe, with over 170 unique parts, both performance and aesthetic, versus the standard XJS, the all new performance model was quite the automobile and gave serious rivalry to offerings from BMW and Porsche at the time.
Early XJR-S’ came equipped with 5.3 litre V12s but post 1989 that would be upgraded to 6.0 litres. Built in incredibly small numbers these later 6.0 litre cars are an impressively rare sight today, with just 115 RHD examples understood to have been made, making this car a real rarity.
Smartly presented and enthusiast owned for the last 17 years, its certainly a good one, and not one to miss if you’re in the market for a thoroughly rare and interesting classic Jaguar.

Summary
A rare and impressively capable monster, the Jaguar XJR-S is a wonderful slice of high performance classic super coupe, and a lesser seen one at that.
With just 115 RHD examples understood to have been made with the higher capacity 6.0 litre V12, this is an undeniably rare car and one that will surely be enough to draw the appeal of even the most astute Jaguar enthusiast. Good examples, in fact any examples seldom come to market and the one we have here must surely be one of the finer preserved XJR-S’ out there on the roads today.
