Highlights
- Rare high-performance sports car
- Only 751 examples built between 1991 and 1995
- Mechanically restored, serviced, and ready to be driven
The Appeal
Manufactured by Alpine between 1991 and 1995, the A610 was a high-performance vehicle that was irresistably 90s. Designed to compete with contemporaries such as the Porsche 911 and Ferrari 348, it was a sleek, aerodynamic, aggressive piece of high-spec machinery, with top-notch handling and a boisterous 3.0L V6 that got plenty of acclaim from the prestigious motoring press - and Top Gear.
This example, originally supplied for the Japanese market, has been based in Czechia since 2018, and has been thoroughly cossetted - with a recent servicing and even some fresh paintwork. We’ve no doubt it’ll turn plenty of heads.
The History and Paperwork
- Built in 1992 for the Japanese market
- Based in Japan until 2018, when it was imported to Czechia
- Modified by its previous owner for similarity to the 1994 Le Mans example
- Currently indicates 60,209km, which appears to be genuine
- Recently inspected and serviced
- Paperwork file includes:
- Original Japanese export paperwork
- Japanese transfer certificate
- Import paperwork
- The car also features some original factory stickers and a sticker commemorating a 1997 car meet
The Interior
- Highly original black interior
- Replacement radio and steering wheel
- Fitted with additional alarms
Sporty, tidily arranged and nicely-kept, this A610’s interior carries a level of patina without losing a bit of its sleek character.
The impressive black leather upholstery carries light sag, cracking and the odd spot of rubbing or surface loss, but is free of any substantial rips or tears. This extends to the door cards, carpets and headlining, which all look in good order.
The dashboard is in very good condition, with all of the car’s original period instruments and plastic still in good order. We’ve no reports of any faults with these, and the only anachronisms to the car’s originality are the lack of period sound system and the installation of a new steering wheel - however, the replacement wheel is still a great match for the cabin.
The ‘Frunk’ space is similarly well kept with a spare wheel and tool kit in situ.
The Exterior
- Impressive bodywork with modifications to match the 1994 Le Mans entrant
- Bright yellow paintwork, kept to a high standard
- Impressive Alpine branded wheelset
With its steep, aerodynamic angles, aggressive-looking vents and rear spoiler, this A610 demands your attention - and with that bright yellow paintwork, it’s hard to ignore. Modified with new vented panels around the side window, and treated to new headlights, this example is a stylish evocation of the 1994 Le Mans A610 - and now stands as a fantastic period example of a 90s high-performance motor.
With only light wear to the paintwork, such as the odd paint chip, this car’s bodywork appears clear of any significant corrosion or bubbling, and all of the panels look tightly-knit and free of dents and dings.
The glasswork and lenses look in good order, including the de-pop-upped headlights, which create a stylish rally appearance to the car’s front profile.
The Alpine-branded wheels, which really suit the car’s overall appearance, are also in fine fettle. These have been shod in a full set of sports tyres with plenty of tread still on offer. Underneath, we’re informed that the car is in very good order, with replacement of the front axle pins being carried out during a recent inspection.
The Mechanics
- 3.0L PRV Turbo V6 powerplant
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Recently serviced
Powered by the impressive PRV Turbo V6, this car’s mechanical pedigree is a highly impressive one, and it all remains in fine fettle to this day. Free from any mechanical defects, the car has recently been serviced with new oil and filters, and has been treated to new spark cables, spark plugs and coolant.
We’ve not been informed of any leaks, knocks, bangs or smoke, and the car is reportedly starting with zero fault or hesitation. Ultimately, this looks to be a superb example of a very highly acclaimed 90s sports car.
Summary
Rare, glamorous, and with more than a hint of rebellion, this stylish motor is ready and waiting to hit the road with a new owner. We’ve no doubt it’ll garner plenty of very well-deserved attention.
