Highlights
- Great original specification throughout
- Very tidy interior
- Bodywork and paint in excellent condition
The Appeal
This Mk1 Golf Cabriolet is a rare beast: a surviving ‘90s VW which remains unmodified and well presented. It’s a great example of the model — and ‘90s styling in general. While you’d think this should be a Mk2 as it’s a 1991 car, the Cabriolet skipped generations and continued in Mk1 guise until the Mk3 took over.
The bodywork appears to be nice and straight, with smart red paintwork and good shut lines. And the interior, other than the re-covered front seats, looks to be largely original. We particularly enjoy the tactile chunkiness of the switches and buttons.
And with extensive servicing on file, there’s a lot to like about this Golf. It’s a car which will look great on any driveway, big or small, and should be a pleasure to own and drive.
