The Appeal
The Toyota Landcruiser is a 4x4 built to take on just about anything. While many of the world's off-roaders have a military basis, the Land Cruiser concept arrived in 1951 as a mobility vehicle for Japan’s National Police Reserve. This sort of employment demanded hard-wearing, rugged engineering and reliability.
Over the next 71 years of continuous production, 14 model lines and thousands of variations joined the Land Cruiser's ranks - and the off-roader had become one of the longest-produced, most varied and bestselling product lines in Toyota's history.
This VX, with chromed wheels and flared arches, is relatively more scarce - thanks in part to its 3-door passenger arrangement. In recent years, the car has been dry stored, and only taken out for the odd sunny drive. It now comes to us ready and waiting for the lucky new owner.
