THE APPEAL
As far as JDM cars go, the Mitsubishi GTO offers a lot of car for the money, packed full of electronic wizardry and fitted with a twin-turbo 3.0 litre V6 the GTO is a proper cool 90s car with a lot to offer to any JDM fan.
On this particular GTO, the factory 285bhp has been improved with the addition of larger turbos and uprated injectors, and a stand-alone ECU to keep everything in check a new clutch was fitted in 2016 and the brakes we overhauled in 2022. The interior has received some upgrades with the addition of digital gauges and a set of BB bucket-style seats, making it a nice place to be, just like being back in the 90s.

THE INTERIOR
- Aftermarket seats made by BB Seats
- Seats are in good condition and mounted on the correct subframes
- The rear seats are the original leather and in good condition
- Both door cards are in good condition and they have upgraded speakers fitted
- Mitsubishi Evo 8 Momo steering wheel fitted. This has some signs of wear to the rim
- The dashboard is in good condition, and there is no damage
- Instruments are working correctly with no warning lights present
- The odometer shows a reading of 82,971 kilometres
- Digital replacement gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, boost pressure and a clock have been fitted and are working correctly
- The carbon fibre gearknob is in good condition
- The switch gear is said to be working correctly apart from the air conditioning, which is said to need a re-gas, but this cannot be confirmed
- Pioneer flip-out stereo with Apple car play, android auto and reverse camera, which is operated via a switch
- Autowatch Thatcham 2 grade alarm and immobiliser
- The carpets and headlining are in good condition, with no real signs of wear
- Inside the boot is clean and tidy
- Original space saver spare wheel is present
THE EXTERIOR
- Finished in Ascot Silver
- The paintwork does have some lacquer peel on the roof, there are some scuffs to the corners of the plastic bumpers and some paint flaking off on the side body kit
- The panel gaps are even
- There has been a vented GRP bonnet fitted, which is in black
- New bonnet struts have been fitted
- Black vinyl wrap has been used on the quarter pillars and roof
- Headlights pop up and work correctly
- The rear lights have been tinted black
- Windscreen is in good condition with no chips or cracks
- The side windows do have some light scratches. This is quite commonly caused by debris sitting on the inside edge of the trim
- Aftermarket five-spoke alloy wheels have been fitted. These do have some scuffs but could easily be refurbished
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres are fitted and are in excellent condition
THE MECHANICS

- The engine fires up straight away, and no issues have been reported by the vendor
- The car pulls strongly through the five-speed gearbox, and the change is smooth
- There has been an Xtreme stage 2 6 Puck clutch fitted in 2016
- Rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes and front brake pads were replaced in 2022
- Copper brake pipes and braided hoses were fitted in 2021
- The brakes bring the GTO to a halt in a straight line
- The underside has recently been thoroughly cleaned off and had stone guard applied for protection
SUMMARY
Successful in both selling cars and motorsports, Mitsubishi is well known for creating some of the most exciting and iconic JDM cars from the early 1970s and onwards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to own one of those iconic models, the Mitsubishi GTO. With the mechanicals attended to, the car runs great and has a whole lot of potential for the new custodian to take it to the next level.
