The Appeal
While today you’re mostly likely to find a G Wagon in Knightsbridge, these cars were originally intended to go just about anywhere. Developed in partnership with Steyr, Europe’s foremost four-wheel drive experts, the G is one of, if not the finest off-roaders ever produced and to this day, they retain a strong enthusiast following.
This 1991 300 GE is one of the few remaining G Wagon workhorses that’s yet to receive the urban bling treatment. It’s highly specced from the factory with the well-regarded 3.0-litre petrol straight-six engine and a raft of modern conveniences including heated seats, electric windows and an electric sunroof. It’s been well looked after all its life and during present ownership (since 2003) has been maintained by the vendor. In 2023, the gearbox was rebuilt by a specialist and we’re informed that the car drives superbly as a result.
Whether you’re in need of a supremely capable off-roader or want to build your own urban G Wagon, this is a most compelling opportunity.
