1991 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Hardtop

Highlights

  • Long MOT
  • Replacement galvanised chassis
  • Heritage ‘HUE 166’ interior set

The Appeal

Versatility is a byword for the Land Rover Defender, and the British icon has seen multiple body configurations over its reign. The long-wheelbase hardtop model often served as a commercial vehicle that provided extra rear load space without sacrificing the car's ability to tackle a 45-degree slope (forwards or backwards) and get you out of trouble in almost any conditions thrown at it.
This 1991 car finished in Portofino Red is one of the earlier models to be known as the Defender 110, but has been treated to a series of subtle visual upgrades which retain much of the original vibe. Powered by the robust 3.5-litre petrol V8 engine, recognised for its lightness and reliability, it is also the best sounding Land Rover available. It has been fitted with a professional-fitted galvanised chassis replacement, a Heritage ‘Hue 166’ interior set and kitted out with black steel modular wheels and LED lighting.

Summary

It's common knowledge that the chassis is often a weak point on the Defender, so to find one that has been professionally galvanised and installed by a respected specialist has to be considered a huge advantage.

The presentation, with the smart bodywork with black trim and a heritage interior set-up not only packs a visual punch but also manages to retain much of the originality aspect of the Defender. This simple set-up doesn’t stray far from the original concept, and the added reassurance of its classic V8 heart simply adds to this car's appeal.
