The Appeal
Any bike that came to dominate the TT and also brought victories for Carl Fogarty has to be revered. And Honda’s sublime RS250RF certainly is. It was built in tiny numbers across four generations between 1984 and 2009 for privateers and production teams. For them, it delivered win after win.
The RS250RF is also intrinsically linked with Yer Maun, Joey Dunlop, the Ballymoney racer who notched up his inaugural Isle of Man TT victory on Honda’s racing marvel. The vendor, who is selling this example as part of a collection owned by their partner, believes this well-presented 1991 bike was once ridden by the ‘King of the Roads.’
The bike was acquired some years ago and has been on static display, unused, for the last 10. That has preserved the condition, including the decals and roundel. It has clearly been used on the track but wears its racing lightly.
Due to the lack of recent use it will require some checks and recommissioning if you plan to run it. Or simply enjoy the looks of one of racing’s most evocative and stylish bikes.
