The Appeal
In the late 1980s, whilst European car makers were doing battle in the hot hatch wars, Honda mounted a rearguard action and, almost, swept the field. The CRX VTEC, a sort of coupe/hatchback hybrid, was more technologically advanced, distinctive, engaging and faster than virtually anything else on the market.
Beloved of enthusiasts, these cars are superb in standard form but also ripe for modification. This smart 1991 example sits somewhere inbetween, mechanically standard but with some tasteful modifications to dial up the drama.
It benefits from a bodywork refresh that included a full respray in attractive mid metallic blue. The interior has also been partially retrimmed in Nappa leather. Elsewhere there is a stainless custom exhaust, BuddyClub alloys with new tyres and even a new steering wheel.
It looks fantastic and is both usable and also perfect for classic shows.
History and Paperwork
- First registered 21st January 1991
- Originally from Ireland from where it was exported in May 2003
- We are told it could be returned to Ireland without having to pay duties
