The Appeal
The handsome, pillarless C124 needs no introduction, this 300-CE 24V version, perhaps a little. For two short years discerning coupe customers could buy this car, with Stuttgart’s much-improved M104 220bhp 3L multi-valve straight six under the bonnet.
Despite the car’s impeccable record for high mileage durability, this one has covered just 33,650 miles since it left the factory in October 1990. In the intervening years it has been maintained correctly by its handful of keepers, some of them within the same family. All work has been undertaken by main dealers and specialists, often irrespective of mileage. The car was last serviced in 2023 and has covered less than 1,000 miles since.
As you might expect, it is in fantastic condition. The Signal Red paintwork and beige fabric interior are all-original and show just the lightest touch of age. The sense of originality and honesty extends to the Caffyn’s supplying dealer stickers and plates that remain fitted to the car.
But we’ve saved the best of this car until last. Aficionados know that beneath what appears to be a svelte, relaxing GT lies the heart of a sports car. This one leans into that theme with its optional Sportline chassis and exceptionally rare 5spd manual box.
Whether you’re here for the allure of this rare model, the intrinsic appeal of a C124 coupe, the exclusive specification or the originality of this low-keeper, low mileage car, this example is very tempting. It comes to market with MOT to July 2025 containing no advisories.
