THE APPEAL
Land Rover Defenders have an incredible following among enthusiasts, possibly even more so now than when the model was in production, which lasted for an astonishing 33 years. They’re becoming increasingly collectable on top of their popularity as easy-to-customise, personalised off-roaders.
Hefty by name (thanks to the number plate) and hefty by nature, this one is a 1990 example, but you wouldn’t notice just by looking at it as it appears more modern, with a front bumper incorporating auxiliary fog lights and a colour scheme resonant of that found on later model year Defenders, following a refurbishment a few years ago.
It’s a seven-seater, with quarterlight rear windows and a few subtle modifications, including off-road tyres, a snorkel, Polybush suspension upgrades and aftermarket silicon hoses, along with a modernised centre console. It has a brand-new MOT and is ready to go, as a usable, good-looking truck that’s said to be in great mechanical order, too.

SUMMARY
Defenders are always popular, especially a seven-seater 90, which is both a truly brilliant multi-purpose family vehicle as well as an all-time British icon. This one is a characterful example that has been refurbished in recent years and then subsequently enjoyed and driven, so although it’s not perfect it’s still a very smart and good-looking truck that’s got a huge amount going for it – including quite a cool name!
Hefty needs a new home – and here’s your chance to provide him with one.
