Highlights
- Practical and very usable nimble classic 4x4
- Standard car but with useful front electric winch
- Well preserved with smart interior and bodywork
- Low mileage survivor of these capable workhorses
The Appeal
Italians like small cars – all the better for zipping around historic town centres and winding lanes – and some of their roads are of the less paved variety.
For both those reasons Fiat created the Panda 4x4, a sort of shrunk-down Land Rover with the same nimble, go-anywhere doggedness.
Of course, what works in Italy can also land well elsewhere and the rest of Europe quickly took the 4x4 Panda to its heart. Even those who didn’t have cobbled streets or muddy fields or even rutted tracks to traverse liked the impression provided by the little Fiat that they did.
The 4x4 was therefore often used as a workhorse, which makes well preserved survivors like this one a rare treat. It has clearly been used for the purpose it was intended – just take a look at that meaty front winch – but it remains in remarkable condition. Whether you need a go-anywhere runaround for your weekend bolt hole or just a great little city runaround, this one looks superb.
