The Appeal
When Crewe opened to give Bentley back its mojo in the mid 80s the solution was as simple as it was ingenious: bolt on a big fat turbo. There were some suspension modifications but essentially that forced induction was enough to turn the Turbo R into a genuine addition to the fine line of brutal Bentley racers.
And it was quick, contemporary reviewers expressing surprise at just how sprightly these big saloons were. They cornered too, thanks to those underbody alterations. The Turbo R was the first step in the firm’s renaissance and without it there would likely be no modern day Bentley.
This 1990 model is classically finished in British Racing Green over cream and is one of the later cars with fuel injection rather than carburettor feed. A low mileage car with excellent service history, it has been sparingly used and comes with long, advisory free MOT to October 2024. There are some bodywork points to note but this is a great opportunity to acquire a well presented example.
