Highlights
- Distinctive and stylish classic Volvo saloon
- Very good condition throughout
- Low mileage car
- Perfect distinctive daily or FoTU candidate
The Appeal
The 7-Series Volvo was a very new type of Volvo, but one imbued with some classic cues. It was the first big, new Volvo saloon since the 60s. The styling was informed by transatlantic themes and the technology was up there with BMW and Mercedes-Benz, but at root this was the same solid, comfy and safe Volvo buyers expected.
Once a very common sight on British roads, survivors are now very rare. Many of those are estates that are still in service as load luggers, very few are like this low mileage example.
Its remarkable, very original condition is an opportunity to relish the bold and boxy style of these great cars. It is pleasingly unmodified and, thanks to caring owners and legendary build quality, arrives on the market surely not much changed from the day it left the showroom. There are barely any signs of use.
This great car will surely attract marque enthusiasts. But its appeal is undoubtedly wider, whether as a great example of 'unexceptional' 80s cars or as a distinctive daily driver. Whichever future awaits, we wish it well on its journey.
