The Appeal

The third generation Supra was the first not to share underpinnings with the Celica. That meant rear wheel drive and decent 2+2 interior space. The 3L 7M-GE straight-six delivered a sinuous 205bhp to make these big GTs as quick as their chiselled profiles looked.
Many were built with auto boxes that leaned into those GT pretensions. But the one enthusiastic drivers want is this car, with its 5spd manual box. That offers a choice of top-gear relaxed cruising or the engagement promised by the A70’s nimble chassis and potent powerhouse.
Many of these cars have been modified, but not this one. It is a very low mileage car - less than 59,000 miles from - new that has been kept pleasingly factory standard by its trio of keepers. You’ll even find an original radio/cassette sound system inside.
White is a great colour for these cars. This one is a reminder of how good they look with its simple coupe profile and details like those pop up headlights. The current keeper acquired it in 2023 after it had been in storage for some years. He checked it over and has ensured it is in great running order, a point that is independently confirmed by the advisory-free MOT to July 2025. The car has been sparingly used during his tenure but regularly serviced.
Recent work includes Koni sport dampers and MTEC brakes. Its registration, valued at £1,500, is a welcome extra benefit. The A70 is a rare and very usable big GT and this one is amongst the best available.
The vendor writes:
“The car drives great. It is very comfortable, makes a good noise and the cruise control is excellent and smooth. It is a car that is great for both long and short drives.
“It is very hard to find one of these that isn't a bit tired or hasn't been modified. This car is neither. I took a risk buying this car because it had been off the road for such a long time, but it paid off because it turned out to be excellent and has never let me down. It is a real unicorn amongst other similar cars and stands out because of it. A genuine, rare original example in great order.”
