The Appeal
Built to conquer the country estate and the off road tracks leading up to it, the Range Rover was a true pioneer in the world of luxury 4x4s. Land Rover’s new offering showed buyers that off road capability needn't come at the compromise of refinement. Through its many generations, the coveted nameplate has remained the market leader and the benchmark for what a luxury off-roader ought to be, and in its older more classic body styles has become quite the statement piece and something of an automotive icon.
This 1989 model is one such Range Rover that sports that iconic classic styling. In its rare brown colour scheme, this well documented, high specification Vogue SE is one that lends itself well to be taken in one of two directions at the hands of a new loving owner. In sound mechanical order, but with flawed body work, G495 YMG would work excellently well as a rugged daily driver in its current workhorse aesthetic, but similarly, holds excellent potential as a candidate for a cosmetic restoration to become a standout show piece. Whichever direction this iconic 4x4 is taken in, you can rest assured it will be up to the task.

Summary
G495 YMG presents as a great example of the endlessly popular staple of British automotive culture. One look at the market shows that demand for these 4x4s is on a seemingly endless upward trend, making the one we have here all the more appealing. Mechanically sound it lends itself well to regular use in its current, honest workhorse cosmetic form but is equally a wonderful candidate for a bodywork restoration to be made into a stand out show piece.
