The Appeal

The MB100’s distinctive design can be seen across Europe but is especially popular in Spain where they were built.

Imported from Spain by the current owner this year it has a MOT and is ready for a campervan conversion.

With excellent engine access through the cab, large sliding side door and good access through the rear, it will make an excellent mid-sized camper perfect for longer trips and touring.

The Interior

The cab of the MB100 provides a comfortable ride and a good, high driving position.

The large angled screen and lack of bonnet make the visibility very good for a vehicle of its size and adds to the practicality of using it on country roads.

The load area has had a wooden frame with flat top added as the beginning of a campervan conversion and would provide a good starting point for further conversion or could easily be removed to begin from scratch.

The interior paintwork appears to be in generally good condition and with the white finish the interior feels very roomy and open.

The dashboard, seats, door cards and headlining all show heavy signs of wear, however this would be easy to address during a campervan conversion.

In the front cab there is a removable cover for the engine that protrudes from the centre of the dashboard between the two front seats and provides exceptionally easy access to the engine.

Whilst the MB100 might be a fairly common sight in parts of Europe, it was never a mainstream van here in Britain and with the large shopping windscreen and 80’s styling it’s certainly distinctive.

It appears to have been fully resprayed in white not too long ago and the exterior presents well overall.

With folding rear doors and a large sliding side door there's plenty of easy access allowing for a range of different configurations during conversion.

There are some imperfections such as a scuff to the front bumper, a small crack in a rear light lens and some stone chipping, but these don’t detract from the impression the van makes, which for its age and mileage is very good.

Benefitting from spending most of its life in a warm and dry climate in Spain means the underside of this MB100 presents very well for its age and mileage.

As can be seen in the images the undersides appear to be clean and in good condition, something that would be hard to find on a van of this age that has spent its time in this country.

The 2.4l OM616 engine is accessed via a clip-on shaped panel in the front cabin and appears to be in sound condition.

It starts easily and idles well and the owner reports that it drives as it should.

This MB100 is a great opportunity to acquire a unique looking van that's not often seen in Britain and would make a fantastic campervan.

Having been recently imported from Spain it hasn’t suffered from the adverse effects of our climate and with valid MOT it’s ready to drive.
