The History and Paperwork
- Low mileage example
- Well maintained
- Excellent service history
- Previously used abroad
- V5C document present
- Garage stored
This Mercedes-Benz has undoubtedly been enjoyed by previous owners, receiving a tremendous amount of care along the way. This care extended throughout the current keeper’s time with the vehicle, who has treasured the vehicle as part of a collection. It is only due to lack of space that the car now awaits a new home, where it will no doubt be thoroughly enjoyed by the lucky new keeper.
Rather remarkably for its age, the vehicle has covered a mere 61 thousand miles throughout its time on the road. This mileage is indeed believed to be accurate, with supporting evidence found with dated stamps in the included service booklet, and a collection of previous MOT certificates.
Also included with the paperwork is a range of invoices detailing previous repairs and maintenance, with recent invoices for items like brakes, servicing and the expected consumables.
The Interior
- Tan interior
- Original interior
- Excellent condition
The interior of this Merc is in excellent condition for its age and still retains what is believed to be an original interior. As the vehicle is now over thirty years old, there are minor signs of age and wear to be expected. The majority of the wear can be found on the driver’s seat in the form of light discolouration and cracking within the leather. Otherwise, the seats are in impressive condition for their age and remain as comfortable as ever.
Carpeting and trim pieces throughout the car have also been well cared for, and show very few signs of age, other than perhaps a minor amount of discolouration to the door card edges, and the pictured damage to the handbrake surround trim. All instruments and controls have also been well preserved, showing very few signs of use on contact points and performing exactly as intended.
As this is one of the few examples to present such a well-preserved original interior, you certainly won’t be disappointed when you’re sitting in your new 300 SL.

The Exterior
- Signal Red paintwork
- Matching hard-top
- Excellent condition
This 300 SL shows off the R107’s body lines superbly, now showing off a rather fresh exterior for its age. Although details are currently unknown, the car has certainly seen a paint booth or two throughout its life, greatly to the vehicle’s benefit of course. In fact, the red paintwork shows rather minimal signs of age and wear, perhaps in need of only a good polish and touch-ups for minor chips.
Chrome and brightwork follow closely, presenting themselves rather well for the vehicle’s age. There are minor defects to note with trim components, such as a misaligned rear quarter lower trim piece as pictured. There is also a small mark on the rubber trim of the front bumper, but both these can of course be very easily rectified and hardly detract from the overall condition of the car.
Also included with the vehicle of course, is the colour-coded hard top. As pictured, the hardtop is in excellent condition for its age, showing off tidy red paintwork, a near spotless headliner, and only minor signs of age towards the non-visible fitting points underneath.
Having no doubt been refurbished at some stage, the wheels are also in excellent condition, showing off a near faultless finish. The wheels are wrapped in a matching set of Rotalla tyres, with plenty of tread left for the new owner to enjoy.
The Mechanics
- 2962cc straight-six
- Drives brilliantly
- Well maintained
- Regularly serviced
- Matching Rotalla tyres
- Cobra immobiliser
Buyers will be pleased to know that this 300 SL fires up right away and performs without a single known fault. As the included service history and paperwork show, the car has been very well cared for over the years, with more recent invoices detailing items like belts, spark plugs, brakes, front subframe mounts and more.
It should be noted that whilst the car does have the controls in place, the air con unit has been removed by a previous owner at some point. Otherwise, the vehicle retains its original equipment and has proven to be a rather reliable vehicle throughout the current keeper’s ownership.
