The Appeal
The Land Rover Defender is one of those cars that everyone flocks to. And since the launch of the latest iteration of the car after a substantial redesign, the earlier models are becoming more and more sought-after.
The iconic boxy shape, especially in 90 short-wheelbase form like this 1989 model is instantly recognisable. Thanks to its ruggedness, the Defender is happy tackling the toughest of green lanes, though in more recent years, the car has become accustomed to the gentile streets of London used as a fashion statement.
This model is thought to have been registered by Land Rover Ltd as reportedly one of just 9 other Defender V8 models used by the brand during the launch of the Discovery. As such, it likely has rather unique ties to the factory which is still visible in its G-WAC format registration.
Finished in Eastnor Green and white, topped off with the white steel wheels, it looks excellent and it’s in the condition to back up its good looks. Over the past few years, it has undergone a partial restoration.
