The Appeal
Naturally when one comes to think of a Lancia hot hatchback it is hard to ignore the Delta Integrale. The wheel sorted slice of Italian engineering has long been a fond favourite among collectors with prices soaring to astronomically high levels. But lurking in the shadows, lies another less commonly sighted number from the Lancia hot hatch roster, the Delta HF Turbo. The HF presented as a far more usable down to earth alternative to the Intergale, but it certainly wasn't a slouch, boasting a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine, good for 0-60 in around 8 seconds it was, and still is, a very quick car.
Today the HF Turbo stands as a wonderful left field alternative to the more commonly chosen performance Lancias and goes to show that a well sorted 80s Italian hot hatch can still be had at a sensible value.
Exceedingly rare, this 1989 model is a great, interesting example of the coveted nameplate. Probably one of the most solid complete examples left here in the UK, it longs for a committed enthusiast to revitalise it and bring it back to its former glory after an extended hiatus from road use. These cars are incredibly thin on the ground and opportunities to acquire them seldom come around.
