The Appeal
This specially upgraded edition of the popular Jaguar XJ-S is a rare and appealing car. It is fitted with an improved version of the six-litre V12 with a modified air intake and free-flowing exhaust. There is correspondence with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust on file to confirm that this was the first XJR-S produced in Jaguar Racing Green. It was registered in August 1989, and the model was released in September of that year.
The Zytek fuel injection, forged steel crankshaft and forged alloy pistons help up-rate the car’s output to 334hp and make it into something of a road-going rocket. A rocket with comfortable leather seats and air-conditioning.
This particular example has been off the road for over twenty years, so will require some fettling in order to return it to normal use. But once complete, it will certainly prove its worth as a thrillingly powerful ‘80s sports car.
