The Appeal
Regarded as one of the most usable classic Ferraris, the mid-engined 328 remains immensely popular amongst collectors, especially those who like to use their cars as the engineers at Maranello intended. Combining svelte Pininfarina styling with a howling quad-cam V8 and precise five-speed gated manual gearbox, many say the 328 is one of the last truly ‘analogue’ Ferraris.
This 1989 GTB is in remarkable condition, with much of its originality intact. Resplendent in the tasteful scheme of Grigio Metallico over beige leather, it’s quintessential of its era and is unquestionably stylish. The car is accompanied by a significant collection of servicing invoices, a well-stamped maintenance booklet and an independent condition assessment report.
For those seeking a well-sorted and original 328 GTB, this 1989 example is eminently worthy of your consideration.

The steering wheel is delightfully simple and that gorgeous gear lever juts invitingly from its open gate. In spite of its simplicity, this interior isn’t short on luxury and the choice of beige leather is particularly fine. There’s relatively good luggage space too, making this car the perfect choice for touring.
Retaining its original interior, there’s a commendable lack of heavy wear, with just a smattering of patina in places.
The Exterior
- Pininfarina ‘wedge’ styling
- Handsome Grigio Metallico paintwork
- OEM five-star alloy wheels in excellent shape
- Pirelli Cinturato tyres
- Bodywork in perfect condition, no impact or accident
- Pop-up headlamps
Ferrari have enjoyed a long and illustrious working relationship with Pininfarina so it’s no wonder they asked their favourite design house to pen the 328. Following the then-popular ‘wedge’ profile, while also incorporating a number of flowing curves, the 328 looks utterly fabulous and this one is set off perfectly by its Grigio paintwork.
There are very few blemishes and certainly nothing of any note. We didn’t spot any accident damage, nor any corrosion. The alloy wheels present immensely well and so do all the trims.

- The vendor does not anticipate any work that needs to be carried out at present
You own a classic Ferrari because of what it’s like to drive and this 328 GTB doesn’t disappoint. Having received a great deal of mechanical attention over the years and covering few kilometres for a car of its age, this Ferrari is in rude health and reportedly drives very well indeed.
To drive, it’s one of the most engaging cars of its era due to its charismatic V8 mounted just behind your head and the interaction you get via its dog-leg gated manual gearbox.
Summary
Presented in impeccable order, commendably original and accompanied by a detailed history file documenting a lifetime of judicious maintenance, this is a fantastic example of the much-coveted 328 GTB. Don’t miss this unrepeatable opportunity to make it yours.
