The Background
The Citroen 2CV was produced from 1948 to 1990, it is an icon all over the World and has had some unique versions of it produced.
In 1988 Wolfgang Hoffman developed his cabrio version of the vehicle. It is believed only 250 of the cars were built in the workshop, the rest in existence were kit cars where enthusiasts could put the car together. Worldwide approximately 1700 are in existence.

The History
This car has been in the current owner's family for 28 years, with a comprehensive service history and documentation to back this up it has not wanted for anything in its present ownership. The car has a new chassis and gearbox, so mechanically it is in excellent condition.
The retro yellow over maroon paintwork is in generally good condition, never having been restored the car is showing its age a little in places, if anything this highlights that this is a well used and genuine example.
The owner is selling this much loved member of the family due to lack of use, it has always been garaged and throughout is in good order mechanically.
The conversion was done by sole UK importer Ian Hudson in Cumbria, the stampede plaque in the vehicle shows its authenticity and right hand drive versions of this vehicle are very rare.
The Paperwork
The car comes with receipts and MOTs charting its service history, purchase of parts and anything else that has been required to keep the car in good order. There is a stamped service book which shows the maintenance record since the current owner has had the vehicle, mainly work has been carried out by Citroen specialist Hill’s in Kent.
A Haynes manual, 2CV handbook and other original manuals are included with the car.
The personalised number plate is included with the sale.

The Interior
The charcoal interior has held up well over the years and is genuine, carpets are clean is the boot area. Spare wheel has good tread and the original tool kit is supplied with the vehicle.
All switchgear is operational, the door cards are clean and in a good state. The handles are working smoothly and the inside of the fabric roof is clean and shows no signs of tears or marks on it at all. All glass work appears to be original and is in good condition.
The Exterior
The maroon/yellow paintwork has held up well, there are as you’d expect from an original example some light marks around the bodywork, if anything these add to the charm and character of this classic example. A small dent is on the front area of the bonnet left of the grille and stone chips are present, some have been touched in.
The hood is in a good state and could benefit from a clean with some specialists product, it pulls across smoothly to open and close and does transform the vehicle for those bright sunny days.
All tyres and wheels are in a good state and all mirrors, lights and handles are good for the age of the vehicle. The white wall on the tyres is uneven on all tyres, but as mentioned tread is good and this is just cosmetic.
The Mechanics
With a new gearbox, clutch and chassis mechanically the car is like new, the 2CV has some idiosyncrasies which add to its character, the owners states that it runs smoothly and accelerates well.
The cars last service was in August 2018. The car was SORN in August 2021 when it had its last MOT with some advisories, these are shown on the photograph and the owner has said that these are characteristics of the 2CV chassis set up.
The Appeal
An original right hand drive 2CV that comes with a wealth of history in the classic yellow/maroon colour combo paintwork really does stand out from the crowd, with the roof pulled back its ready to enjoy during the Spring and will always put a smile on your face.
Being one of the last 2CVs produced and a Hoffman edition it is a truly unique car and will add to any ones collection, or as a car for the weekend to enjoy in the UK or the continent.
