Well maintained car with recent structural and mechanical work
Enthusiast owned with long term keeper
MOT to September 2024 with no advisories
Rare and well regarded rear engined V6
The Appeal
Trust Renault to do things differently. While its coupe competitors were all conventional, the firm’s GTA continued the rear engined tradition of the earlier A110 and A310 but with crisp Opron styling and a torquey V6.
The unusual layout and potent V6 engine made these cars engaging and entertaining. They are rare cars but sought after by collectors precisely for those qualities.
This handsome GTA V6 will be a treat for enthusiasts. It began life as a factory 2.8litre 155bhp V6 in Imperial Red before a comprehensive makeover - overseen by the current keeper - as a Le Mans homage in 2018 with the 2.9L V6. The factory Le Mans cars had smooth, updated aesthetics so it was a wise choice. It is finished in popular Alpine Blue metallic with complementary blue velour interior and presents very well inside and out.
The enthusiast long term keeper has matched the makeover with regular and careful maintenance across the structure, running gear and mechanicals. The car runs very well and is in rude health, which the advisory free MOT verifies. Rare and distinctive, this car will surely be a talking point wherever it goes - and entertain as you get there.

To celebrate Alpine’s historic success at Le Mans - and mark the end of GTA production - Renault created the Le Mans special edition. Based on the GTA Turbo, just 325 were built during 1990. These cars got smoother, revised aesthetics - which presaged the future A610 - together with ACT BBS-style alloy wheels. Just three colours were available, including Alpine Blue metallic. Many regard them as the best looking of the GTA models.
This 1988 GTA V6 is a naturally aspirated homage to those cars. The work was done in 2018 when the car was carefully evolved from its original Imperial Red to Alpine Blue metallic with the correct Le Mans exterior features. To the uninitiated it is virtually indistinguishable from a factory car.
